Review Software for Academic Referencing & Writing

Thank you for helping evaluate the system called ‘Visual-Meta’ which I have designed for my PhD.

Visual-Meta

Visual-Meta is an appendix at the back of a PDF document which describes what the document is: Who authored the document and when, as well as what the title is. This is primarily information for citing the document though it can also contain metadata about the structure of the document & more. It can look as simple as this:

@{visual-meta-start}
author = {Manguel, Alberto},
title = {A Reader on Reading},
year = {2010},
isbn = {978-0-300-15982-0},
@{visual-meta-end}

The Software : Reader & Author

Visual-Meta has been implemented in two pieces of software: A word processor called Author and a PDF viewer called Reader, both for macOS:

Sections

There are three sections on specific functionality and one with general questions:

  • Augmented Citing

  • Augmented Views

  • Augmented Concept Mapping

  • Final Questions

Please note, what is shown is for macOS, hence the use of cmd (command) key references. On Windows this would be ctrl.

Thank you so very much for helping with this!
