Author Speed Test

We claim that Author is the fastest (because it has less interruptions) way to write, cite and export as an academic document. Here is one way of measure it:

Test Script

Make sure you have read this first and do a dry run if you like. The academic PDF can be pre-loaded in your browser with login if you prefer.

Create a new document and save it with the name ‘Speed Test’.

Write: “This is a heading” and turn that into a top level heading.

Write: “This is body text.” Then a line break.

Add a citation from a book: ‘The Information’ by James Gleick.

Add a citation from a webpage with title, author name (as Anonymous) and URL:
bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-59974215

Add a citation from a journal: ‘Hypertext 2008: a great safari’
dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/1408940.1408941

Export document with Cover, Table of Contents, Reference section and in-body citations correctly formatted.
